Unlocking the Power of Mindfulness and Yoga for Kids
YOGA
Yoga is an ancient science that helps create well-being by building self-awareness, strength, and flexibility for body and mind.

Kids yoga can help:

• build strength and flexibility
• improve balance and coordination
• increase self-awareness and promote positive self-image.
• creativity to flourish
• teach kids to actively relax
• increase awareness of and deepen breathing
• Encourage compassion, respect and generosity
• Teach self-acceptance and self-love and healthy attitude to consent
• Improve focus and concentration
• Encourage emotional resilience and build inner strength
• Reduce stress and anxiety

At Lotus Clouds our classes combine yoga with mindfulness tailored to different age groups. At their core, all classes are fun, non-judgemental, non-competitive, and full of wonder and imagination, allowing children to be themselves and express themselves in a safe environment.

Older children (8yrs and up) are guided to hold poses for longer and concentrate on breath. They are also encouraged to use initiative and create their own yoga flows with different poses. We focus on correct breathing techniques to enhance their experience and to calm their mind too.

For younger children classes are faster paced and lively, bringing to life children’s favourite stories like the Gruffalo in the form of yoga stories, combining poses, stretching, touch, props, and songs. Kids are encouraged to notice and use all their senses while enjoying fun yoga journeys around the world, to the zoo, under the sea, and even to rainforests. All sessions incorporate invaluable breathing exercises to teach kids to regulate their own emotions at a young age.

In helping kids to get all the benefits listed above we make sure that all kids feel accepted and valued. Yoga is at its core non- judgemental and non-competitive, and children are taught to work together with kindness and respect for each other to create an environment of equality irrespective of any special educational needs.
