About Me
I'm Bansi, and I have practised various forms of meditation and yoga on and off since I was 11 years old. As a child I went with my Dad to learn transcendental meditation, and while the founders raved about the benefits for a calm mind and great concentration, the methods of teaching were rigid and not child friendly. I remember listening to people chanting and finding it very amusing. Not surprisingly, I found the practice quite boring and didn't stick with it! It was in my early 20s, when life became more stressful, that I returned to the practice of daily meditation, and soon realised that the benefits of taking time out to slow down, breathe and just be, were life changing. I feel calmer and happier in myself, I think more clearly, and am generally more positive and at peace. I also started practising yoga again a few years ago and love the balance it brings to mind and body.
I now have 3 kids between the ages of 6 and 14 years, and while navigating toddler tantrums and teenage angst, I found myself researching ways to help them regulate their emotions instead of allowing them to be consumed by them. The solution I found was to teach children yoga and mindful meditation tailored to their age.
I am passionate about giving children these ife skills- to be aware of  the present and the way they feel, and to learn to control their reactions to the challenges that life throws at them, while at the same time strengthening their body, increasing flexibility, and confidence. By guiding them in a fun and creative way I want to unlock within them a super power that will enable them to take control of their mental health and well being.
